The Brucato's are heading out again!

April 28, 2015

Hello!

It seems so odd to think that almost an entire year has passed since I was creating our Turkey II blog.  Where does the time go?

This time, we are heading to some new places as well as revisiting some old friends.

We leave Phoenix this Sunday for Rome, via Dulles.  We are renting a flat (thank you, Stew!) in Rome for a week, before going to Florence for a few days and finally Lucca where we will pick up a car to tool around the countryside for a bit.

We then fly to Cagliari, Sardinia from Pisa where we will be searching for nuraghe in various places all over the island.  (Nuraghe are ancient stone megalith edifices dating from between 1900 - 730 BCE.)

From Cagliari, we head to Marseille and France!  We are picking up a car and heading out on the road.  We will visit first with our friends Nathalie & Pascal (although Pascal may be working) and their son Nathan in St. Affrique, near Roquefort.  Then, we head west toward the Dordogne and will spend four nights in Domme, a very tiny town at the top of a cliff with stunning views all over the valley.  After that, it's on to Paris for a few days where we will drop the car.

Picking up yet another car on our way out of Paris, our last week will be spent touring various WWI battle sites in northern France and Belgium near Lille and Arras, with a stopover in Brugges, Belgium.  Our last night in France will be at one of our very, very favorite places -- the Chateau Ermenonville, which is conveniently positioned for our departure from Charles de Gaulle airport and home!

So -- we are hoping that you will join us as we travel!  We LOVE getting your comments posted on the blog, as well as any emails you might feel inclined to send.  I have set the blog up to go automatically to whoever wants to receive it, just by clicking the link on the right hand side of the page and entering your email address.  Once you do that, you will receive an email notification from "Feedburner" with a link to click.  You must do that before the emails will go to you.  If you have any problems, please let me know.  I am hoping that Feedburner will send you our posts for the entire trip, but if not, and they stop, I will send you a link to try.

We do hope that you will join us on our travel adventure!
Lots of love,
m
